Only about one in two children in Madagascar successfully completes primary school. Many parents lack the money for school supplies, tuition or reliable supervision. Without an education, children have little chance of escaping poverty.

We create opportunities
In 2026, SONNE-International founded our subsidiary organisation, SONNE-Madagascar, in collaboration with Johannes Rauter – an Austrian by birth who has lived in Madagascar for many years – and his wife.
We support a partner school in Morondava, where children not only learn to read, write and do arithmetic, but also have a safe space in where they can discover their talents and are given the chance to lead self-determined lives.
Your donation goes directly towards the day-to-day running of the school – for example, towards teaching materials, lessons, classroom equipment and other initiatives that enable the children to benefit from a high-quality education.

- secure the long-term future of our partner school,
- continuously improve the quality of education, and
- open up real prospects for the future to these children.

Perhaps you had the chance to meet Johannes Rauter in person during your stay. His long-standing commitment to the people of Morondava led to the founding of SONNE-Madagascar in 2026. Together with his wife, he runs the organisation on a voluntary basis and works tirelessly every day to ensure that disadvantaged children have access to education.
