Skills Training for Adolescents in Myanmar

In order to achieve a lasting improvement of the young people’s living conditions, it is one of our principal objectives to empower them to integrate into the local job market after the end of their schooling. Therefore SONNE-International provides individually adapted skills training for adolescents in Yangon, Myanmar. It lasts up to six months and constitutes the basis for choosing a career.

By following our courses many young people manage to escape from poverty. Each year, more than 50 adolescents successfully complete an intensive training programme in the fields of tailoring, data processing, basic electricity or haircutting.

The target group of this project are the graduates of the Shwe Myint Zu Convent School and of the DIC (Drop-in-centre for adolescents) inYangon.
