The case of two critically ill children in our project area induced us to establish a fund for medical emergencies. Thus we managed to pay for urgently needed treatment for these children, whose parents could not raise the money for the life-saving therapies.

A newspaper article covering a visit to our project area in October 2010 informed the readers about the fate of the two critically ill children and launched an appeal for money for these children. The people's generosity was so overwhelming that we were not only able to pay for the two children's treatment but could also establish an emergency fund of (currently) 5000 € for further medical emergencies.
